Michael Robert Orlin Orrell's Obituary
Michael Robert Orlin Orrell, age 53, of Casey, IL passed away at 7:56 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at his residence after courageously fighting cancer for twenty-two years. He was born July 3, 1969 in Terre Haute, IN, the son of Carl Edward Orrell and Joyce Gayle Legg Orrell.
Survivors include his son, Andrew Orrell of Charleston, IL; mother, Joyce Orrell of Casey, IL; brother, Christopher Orrell (Jan) of Indianapolis, IN; nephews, Anthony Orrell, Samuel Orrell, and Parker Buenzil; and mother of his son, Amanda Gullquist (Tim) of Marshall, IL. He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Anna Nicole Orrell Buenzil.
Michael was a 1988 graduate of Casey-Westfield High School. He continued his education at Lake Land College and Eastern Illinois University. Michael proudly served his country in the Army National Guard 1544 in Paris, IL and served in Desert Storm. He worked for Cellular One and Sprint in Casey, IL. Mike was a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Casey, IL. He was also a member of the Casey VFW. Mike enjoyed NASCAR, the Dallas Cowboys, and was a dog lover. In his younger years, he also enjoyed karaoke.
Memorial service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Markwell Funeral Home with Father Augustine Koomson officiating. Inurnment with military rites will follow in Restitution Cemetery, rural Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday prior to the service at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
