Maxine Lovell's Obituary
Maxine Lovell, 89, of Westfield, IL passed away at 12 noon on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Heartland Nursing Home, Casey, IL. She was born on January 7, 1925 in Kansas, IL, the daughter of Alonzo Carlton "Tom" Smitley and Martha Jane Coclasure Smitley. On December 25, 1943 she married Lawrence "Bud" Lovell. He passed away on September 4, 2010. Survivors include her son, Gary Lovell and wife Kathy of Westfield, IL; grandson, Kacey Lovell and wife Heather of Westfield, IL; granddaughters, Stephanie Cutright and husband Mike of Casey, IL and Stacy Mulicka and husband David of Ft. Myers, FL; great grandchildren, Hayden Lovell, Conner and Paige Cutright and Charlie Mulicka; sisters, Thelma Herrington and Janice Beavers. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Joe, Charles and Layle Smitley and sisters, Louise Gilbert and Frances McGuinn. Mrs. Lovell was a homemaker and farm wife. She loved the outdoors and helping on the farm. She was a substitute cook for the Westfield High school and was very active in the PTA. Maxine was 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Westfield United Methodist Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher. She especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports and taking vacations out west. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 6, 2014 at the Markwell Funeral Home with Pastor Phil Tribby officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Westfield, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Illinois Chapter, 207 S. Prospect, Suite 1, Bloomington, IL 61704.
