Maxine Hanners' Obituary
Maxine Hanners, 93, of Greenup, Illinois, formerly of Casey, Illinois, passed away at 2:55 a.m. on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Cumberland Rehab and Health Center, Greenup, Illinois. She was born on October 6, 1916 in Greenup, Illinois, the daughter of Mark Wood Neeley and Clara Estheline Cougill Neeley. On October 19, 1935, she married Frankie Albert Hanners in Casey, Illinois. He preceded her in death on February 1, 1971. Surviving are daughter, Linda Lou Holsapple and husband Gary of Greenup, IL; grandson, Stacey Holsapple (Bonnie) of Greenup, IL; granddaughters, Dinah Cross (Aaron) of Greenup, IL, and Nancy Gabel (Kenny Syfert) of Greenup, IL; twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents, husband, son, Donald Lee Hanners; three sisters, and one brother. Maxine was a member of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School and playing the piano for many years. Anyone who knew Maxine witnessed the walk of faith she had with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was an inspiration to her family and friends whom she loved very much. She will be dearly missed. Thank you God for such a beautiful blessing. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL with Rev. Rick Emrich officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Street Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2010 at the funeral home. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to the Pleasant Valley Church, 1974 Co. Rd. 750 N, Greenup, IL 62428.
