Max Leroy Wilson's Obituary
Max Leroy Wilson, 97, of Casey, IL passed away on Friday, October 31, 2014 at the Arizona State Veterans Home in Phoenix, AZ. He was born September 29, 1917 in Coles County, IL, the son of Larb Wilson and Mae Anderson Wilson. On July 9, 1947 he married B. Louise Short Claypool in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Survivors include son, Mike Wilson of Sun Lakes, Arizona; stepson, Stanley R. Claypool and wife Nancy of Niceville, Florida; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, stepson, Jerry Claypool; brothers, Dillard, Durward and Kenneth Wilson; sisters, Beatrice Cutler and Opal Malcom and an infant grandchild, Jacquelyn Wilson. Max was a US Army WWII veteran serving his country from 1941 to 1945. He was a retired self-employed farmer in the Casey, IL area. He was a member of the Casey VFW and a former member of the Moose and Farm Bureau. At his request, military graveside services will be held at a later date. Memorials donations may be made to a local hospice organization of the donor's choice.
