Max Sweet's Obituary
Max L. Sweet, age 79, of Casey, died on Saturday, November 19, 2005 at Heartland Manor Nursing Center in Casey. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 25, 2005 at Markwell & Son Funeral Home in Casey with Rev. George Nika officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service and burial will be in the Casey-Cumberland Cemetery with Military Rites performed by the Martinsville American Legion. He was born June 12, 1926 in Martinsville, the son of Olin Isaac and Hazel May Tingley Sweet. He married Joan Wood on September 2, 1951 in Martinsville; she survives. He was a local insurance agent in Casey since 1964 and a WWII Air Force veteran. He was a member of the Casey United Methodist Church, Casey Lions Club, Casey Country Club, Martinsville American Legion Post #515, Clark County Shrine Club, 10-70 Motor Patrol, and the Masonic Lodge #603. Surviving are his wife, Joan of Casey, son Brad Sweet of Casey, grandson Dusty Sweet of Columbia, MO, granddaughter Kerri Lynn Goble and husband Tony of Prescott Valley, AZ, nephews Gregory Sweet and wife Robin of Tucson, AZ and Jeffery Sweet and wife Marilyn of Robinson.
