Maude Virginia Orndorff Richards' Obituary
Mrs. Maude Virginia (Orndorff) Richards, age 86, of LaPorte, Indiana formerly of Casey, Illinois died Friday, February 1, 2008, at Beverly Living Center-LaPorte in LaPorte, Indiana. She was born June 19, 1921 in Clark County, Illinois, the daughter of the late Grover Orndorff and the late Imogene (Hackett) Orndorff. Mrs. Richards lived in the LaPorte area since 1941, coming from Casey, Illinois. On September 21, 1939 in Marshall, Illinois she was married to Morris D. Richards, who preceded October 22, 1996. Mrs. Richards was employed by American Home Foods for 10 years. She also worked for Boris Smolers and Five Star Food Center. She was a member of Church of Christ, Michigan City, Indiana She survived by her daughter, Mrs. Sharon Barhydt of LaPorte, IN; three grandchildren, Sarah Barhydt of LaPorte, IN, Ashlei Hardy of Denver, CO, Jon Richards of Glendale, AZ, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Mr. Paul Richards, two brothers, and three sisters. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Indiana, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, February 9, 2008. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 12:00 PM Saturday, February 9, 2008 , with Rev. Fred Davis officiating. Interment will be at Door Village Cemetery in LaPorte, Indiana. Memorial Contributions may be made to the LaPorte Co. Animal Shelter, 2855 W. St Rd. 2 LaPorte, IN 46350. Memorial tributes may be sent to the family at www.markwellfuneralhome.com. There will be no local services.
