Mary E. Murphy, 87, of Casey, IL passed away at 10:45 p.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Heartland Manor in Casey, IL. She was born August 3, 1922 in Casey, IL, the daughter of Thomas Aaron Stinson and Nettie Mae Rienbolt Stinson. On October 11, 1941 she married Edwin Lenuel "Doe" Murphy. Survivors include her husband of sixty-eight years, Edwin "Doe" Murphy of Casey, IL; brother, Oscar Stinson of Fairbanks, IN; sister, Norma Butcher of Casey, IL; sister, Irene Whitling of Casey, IL; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Her parents, brother, Don Stinson, sisters, Helen Updegraff and Thelma Orrell preceded her in death. Mary was a member of the First Christian Church in Casey, IL. She worked in Casey, IL at Ettlebrick Shoe Factory for over twenty-nine years, Underwood's for eight years and Bingo King for two years. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL with Rev. Billie Ray Ulrey officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to First Christian Church, 200 SE Eighth St., Casey, IL 62420 or Lincolnland Hospice, 700 Broadway Ave. East, Suite 9, Mattoon, IL 61938.
