Mary Ann Leohr's Obituary
Mary Ann Leohr, 69, of Yale, Illinois passed away at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2009 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Illinois. She was born November 22, 1939 in West Salem, Illinois the daughter of Lester Biehl and Lola Johnson Biehl. On May 2, 1959 she married Homer "Sam" Leohr in West Salem, Illinois. Survivors include her husband, Homer "Sam" Leohr of Yale, Illinois; son, Roger Leohr and wife Theresa of Newton, Illinois; daughter, Janet Benefiel and husband Kent of Newton, Illinois; daughter, Leslie Fear and husband Chris of Fayetteville, Georgia; brother, Gene Biehl and wife Shirley of Dale, Indiana; grandchildren, Brittany Balch and Tyler Balch of Newton, IL; Josh Benefiel and fiancé Whitney Thoele of Lawrenceville, Illinois; Steven Benefiel of Haubstadt, Indiana; Michael Benefiel of St. Louis, Missouri and Presley Fear of Fayetteville, Georgia. Her parents preceded her in death. Mrs. Leohr was co-owner with her husband of Leohr Oil Company for over 48 years. She was a member of the Oblong Christian Church in Oblong, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 16, 2009 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, Illinois with Rev. Larry Hollensbe and Rev. Sharon Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in the Yale Cemetery, Yale, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday evening at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, Illinois. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 7363 East 21st St., Indianapolis, IN 46219.
