Mary Evelyn Kimball Hickox's Obituary
Mary Evelyn Kimball-Hickox, 88, of Westfield, IL passed away at 12:22 am on Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. Mary was born May 15, 1919 in Westfield, IL, the daughter of Wesley Francis Strader and Ida Fern Lowery Strader. On September 7, 1940 in Henderson, KY she married Clarence Dale Kimball; he passed away on September 15, 1969. She then married Ross Hickox on August 19, 1984 in Westfield, IL; he passed away on July 4, 2003. Survivors include sons, Jim Kimball and wife Linda of Charleston, IL; Bill Kimball and wife Barb of Rochester, WI; Wayne Kimball and wife Cathy of Oakland, IL; daughters, Karen Mendenhall of Robinson, IL; Mary Ann Kingery and husband Mike of Canon City, CO; Kathy Shotts and husband Wayne of Alpena, MI; brother-in-law, Ed Kimball and wife Madelyn; sister-in-law, Mary Strader; two stepchildren; grandchildren, Jennifer Walden and husband Travis of Lubbock, TX; Deron Kimball of Mattoon, IL; Angela Hyland and husband Brett of Mattoon, IL; Chris Birch and husband Garry of Robinson, IL; Cheryl Walters and husband Tim of Jewett, IL; Kevin Cisney and wife Kelly of Fullerton, CA; Jim Epperson and wife Marcy of Canon City, CO; Kurt Epperson and wife Linda of Canon City, CO; Jeremy Shotts and wife Heather of Goshen, IN; Nathaneal Shotts of Alpena, MI; Michelle Kimball of Denver, CO; Kristopher Kimball of Westfield, IL and Dustin Kimball of Westfield, IL; six step grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, three step great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren. Her parents, husbands, brother, Max Strader, sister, Kathryn Mauk and an infant grandson preceded her. Mary was a member of the Westfield Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. She worked in Food Service for Eastern Illinois University for over 10 years. She was a homemaker and a lifetime resident of Westfield, IL. Funeral Services will be at 10 am on Saturday, June 16, 2007 at the Westfield Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Flowers and Rev. Jim Butler officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Westfield, IL. Visitation will be held from 5 - 8 pm on Friday, June 15, 2007, at the Westfield Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to the Westfield Baptist Church or the American Diabetes Association. Markwell Funeral Home of Casey - Westfield is in charge of arrangements.
