Mary C Edington's Obituary
Mary C. Edington of Casey, Illinois, passed away at 9:30 p.m. on Monday, September 20, 2010 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, Illinois. She was born on March 13, 1923 in Terre Haute, IN., the daughter of Clarren and Matilde Adams Patton. On February 2, 1958, she married Ernest Leland Edington in Marshall, Illinois. He preceded her in death on December 3, 2003. Survivors include her brother-in-law, Clifford Edington of Marshall, IL, and sister-in-law, Vera McCarty and her husband Warren of Rantoul, IL and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her eight year old daughter, Mary Frances Boone in 1951. She was also preceded by sisters Anne Goforth and Helen Patton, and one brother Robert Patton. Mary was a homemaker and had been a secretary and a bookkeeper. She was a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Casey, the Clark Co. Pork Producers, and the Cottonwood Community Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010 at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Casey, IL with Father Mike Haag officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. one hour prior to her services at the church. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Casey in memory of Mary.
