Mary Kaye Cohrs' Obituary
Mary Kaye (Lowery) Cohrs, 70, of Warrenville, IL formerly of Casey, IL passed away at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2015 at Seasons Hospice Inpatient Center in Naperville, IL. She was born September 24, 1944 in Casey, IL the daughter of Arthur Lowery and Francis Knecht Lowery. In December 1967 she married Bruce Allen Cohrs in Warrenville, IL. He passed away on May 2, 1999. Survivors include her son, Douglas A. Cohrs of Casey, IL; sister, Ruth Spencer and husband Jerry of Yale, IL; nephews, nieces, many friends and her church families. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Robert Lowery. Mary graduated high school in Kentucky. After high school she moved to the Chicago area where she met and married the love of her life. They relocated to Casey, IL area to farm. Mary later graduated from Lake Land College with a degree in cosmetology. She worked in Casey as a licensed cosmetologist and co-owner at The Hair Shanty for over 18 years before she retired. In her retirement she returned to the Chicago area. Mary was a faithful member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Casey, IL where she played the organ for over 30 years and the Bethany Lutheran Church in Naperville, IL where she sang in the choir. Mary was very devoted to her churches, her family and she enjoyed traveling. The graveside committal and inurnment will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at the Washington Cemetery, south of Casey, IL with Pastor Gary Fortkamp officiating. Funeral services were previously held on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Naperville, IL. Memorial donations may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, 201 E.
