Marshal Ray Jackson's Obituary
Marshal Ray Jackson, age 73, of Casey, IL passed away on Sunday morning, April 20, 2025 at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, MO after a one year battle with cancer. He was born October 29, 1951 in Sacramento, CA, the son of Harvey W. Jackson and Lavern A. (Warren) Reynolds. On June 22, 1991 he married Stephanie S. Davis in Casey, IL; she passed away on January 6, 2000. He later married Deeann Morey on October 30, 2010 in Casey, IL.
Survivors include his wife, Deeann Jackson of Casey, IL; sons, Coleton Jackson of Casey, IL and John Jackson (Danelle) of Lake Havasu, AZ; stepchildren, Jeremy McKerrow (Adrianne) of Morris, IL; Jessie Tutewiler (Tom) of Casey, IL; Heather Ramsey (Roger) of Casey, IL and John Ramsey (Cassie) of Casey, IL; grandchildren, Balthazaar, Garrett, Dane and Bo Jackson, Ashley Wright (Jeremiah), Shaylin, Jaycee and Josh Ray, Blake, Owen and Will Ramsey, Kaden Finney, and Drayden, Alexxis and Maverick McKerrow; great grandchildren, Paisley and Houston Wright and Hudson Waldhoff; siblings, Joyce Drummond of Mattoon, IL; Bertha Carver of Neoga, IL; Harvey Jackson (June) of Mattoon, IL; Virginia Davis of Terre Haute, IN and Alice White (Wayne) of Champaign, IL; many nephews and nieces, great nephews and great nieces and many friends. Marshal was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Jackson and Lavern Reynolds; wife, Stephanie; stepdaughter, Karri McKerrow and siblings, Patricia Jackson and Robert Reed.
Marshal was a 1971 graduate of Casey High School. He was retired after working in industrial maintenance for Novelis in Terre Haute, IN for over 23 years. Marshal was a man of many words; words of wisdom, words of advice, and words of encouragement. He enjoyed being with and telling stories to his family and friends although he could get a little long winded. He was a lifelong NASCAR fan, a car enthusiast and could fix just about anything. He will be deeply missed by his family, but we look forward to hearing all his new stories when we see him again.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025 at Markwell Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Ledley officiating. Visitation will be from 3 – 5 p.m. prior to the service on Friday at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
