Marla Kay Laymon's Obituary
Marla Kay Laymon, age 50 of Springfield, formerly of Casey, died on Thursday, August 25, 2005 at St. John's North Hospital in Springfield. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 29, 2005 at the funeral home and burial will be in the Block Cemetery in rural Greenup. She was born October 28, 1954 in Olney, the daughter of Daniel and Kathleen Jones Laymon. She worked 29 years for the Enviornmental Protection Agency in Springfield and had also been a teacher for the Nauvoo Jr. High and High School, teaching math and science. She was a member of the Sangamon Astronomical Society. Surviving are her parents, Daniel and Kathleen Laymon of Casey, sisters Pam Allison of Springfield, Vicky Blankenbaker and husband Danny of Robinson and Cherie Trybull and husband Mark of Greenup, nieces Candice Trybull and Victoria Trybull, both of Greenup and nephew Jason Blankenbaker of Robinson and her two loving pets, Angel and Lady. She was preceded in death by her niece, Heather Bradshaw. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
