Mark Aaron Swick's Obituary
Mark Aaron Swick, age 66, of Casey, IL passed away peacefully at 2:55 p.m. on Thursday September 12, 2024, at Cumberland Rehab and Nursing Center in Greenup, IL with his wife by his side. He was born September 28, 1957, in Mattoon, IL the son of Lewis S. Swick and Caralee (Huckaba) Swick. On November 13, 2021 he married the love of his life Mary K. Hoecherl in the Casey White Oak Church of God in Casey, IL.
Survivors include his loving wife, Mary Hoecherl Swick of Casey, IL; children, Shelby Sappington (Coleman) of Greenup, IL; Taylor Gordon (Robert) of Mattoon, IL; Lesley Breeze (Nathan) of Sevierville, TN and Joshua Bobbitt (Naomi) of Altamont, IL; grandchildren, Kyndel, Eli, Zayne, Gracelyn, Arizona, River, Remi, Kynlee, Beckett and Addison; niece, Andee Swick of Westfield, IL; sister in law, Teresa Hoecherl of West Union, IL and his beloved dog, Mylo. He was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother in law, Fred and Doris Hoecherl and brother, Brent Swick.
Mark was a 1975 graduate of Casey High School and a 1979 graduate of University of Illinois with a degree in architecture. Mark was an extremely gifted carpenter; a trade he chose as his profession for over 40 years. He was avid St. Louis Cardinal and Fighting Illini fan. Mark liked to shoot pool and play golf.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Markwell Funeral Home with Lori Sparks Shull officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary 's Catholic Cemetery, St. Marie, IL at a later date. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
