Mark Edward Kusterman's Obituary
Mark Edward Kusterman, age 74, of Casey, IL passed away peacefully at 8:55 a.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Casey Rehab and Nursing Casey, IL. He was born October 11, 1951 in Terre Haute, IN the son of Robert Edward “Ed” Kusterman and Marilyn Pearl (Richardson) Kusterman. In 1972 he married Connie Throneburg in Westfield, IL.
Survivors include his mother, Marilyn Kusterman of Casey, IL; loving wife, Connie Kusterman of Casey, IL; son, Kyle Kusterman (Bethany) of Casey, IL and their children Bay Kusterman and Sunny Kusterman; son, Drew Kusterman (Kelly) of Winter Garden, FL and their children, Isla Kusterman and Afton Kusterman; brothers, Brad Kusterman (Teri) of Bradenton, FL and Eric Kusterman (Micah) of Casey, IL; sisters, Lisa Weaver of Franklin, TN and Marikaye Neal of Casey, IL; brothers-in-law, Gene Throneburg of Toledo, IL, Larry Throneburg (LuAnne) of Tolono, IL and Denny Throneburg (Sue) of Mattoon, IL; sister-in-law, Veronda Cottle of Geneva, IL; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and infant son, Jonathan Mark Kusterman; nephews, Adam Kusterman and Mark Morris; great niece, Ellery Neal; sisters-in-law, Glenna Dee Throneburg, Barbara Ellen Morris (Ronald) and Alice Throneburg; and brother-in-law, Richard Cottle.
Mark was a 1969 graduate of Westfield High School; he continued his education at Lake Land College also playing basketball for Lake Land. Mark served 6 years in the Army Reserve. Mark was well known as an excellent basketball player and continued his passion for basketball by coaching Jr. High and High School for many years in Casey. He was a member of the Casey Truckers Softball team and was inducted into the Casey Softball Hall of Honor.
Mark retired after working many years at Eastern Illinois University as a building service worker. He was a member of the Casey United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Casey Moose Lodge and enjoyed fishing and purchasing fishing tackle.
Cremation rites will be accorded per Mark’s wishes. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
