Marjorie Ruth Stout's Obituary
Marjorie Ruth Brandenburg Stout, age 94, of Casey, IL passed away at 11:52 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at Gibson Center for Hospice Care, Terre Haute, IN. She was born March 29, 1931 in Oblong, IL, the daughter of Clark DeLos Newsome and Marjorie Ellen (Rich) Newsome. On July 18, 1949 she married Carl Vincent Brandenburg in Martinsville, IL; he passed away May 26, 2001. She later married Bill D. Stout on November 7, 2012 in Marshall, IL; he passed away January 29, 2014.
Survivors include her daughters, Nancy Shafer of Greenup, IL, Carla Zachary of Casey, IL and Joy Myers of Martinsville, IL; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Brandenburg of Casey, IL; grandchildren, Michael Brandenburg (Valerie), Amanda Collier (Jeremy), Scott Perryman (Allison), Crystal Newborn (Matt), Kelsie Rich (Zach), Drew Haumesser (Nickie), Jason Brandenburg and Justin Clark; great grandchildren, Jordan Brandenburg (Tabby), Jarod Brandenburg, Alexis Robison, Nevaeh Collins, Serenity Collins, Mason Perryman, Mia Perryman, Brett Livvix (Dara), Dalton Livvix, Ethan Robinson, Jordan Newborn, Teaghan Rich, Tayton Rich, Treason Rich, Tryler Rich, Drake Haumesser, Luke Haumesser and Adley Haumesser, great great grandchildren, Brody Brandenburg, Riplee Brandenburg, Bowen Brandenburg, Amellia Robison, Karter Robison, Allie Robison, Lane Livvix, Erin Livvix, Sutton Livvix, Trace Livvix, Emberly Newborn and Emma Craig (Issiah). She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands; sons, John Robert Brandenburg and Steven Phillip Brandenburg; granddaughter, Tracy Livvix; son-in-law, Larry Shafer.
Ruth was a 1949 graduate of Casey High School. She retired from Charles Industries after several years. Ruth had previously worked at TRW and managed the Red & White Deli in Casey, IL. She was a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Casey, IL. Ruth enjoyed puzzles, painting, crocheting and shopping.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 13, 2025 at Markwell Funeral Home with Brother Randy Black officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Macedonia Cemetery, rural Casey, IL.
