Marjorie Eloise Shutts' Obituary
Marjorie Eloise (Ferris) Shutts, 89, of Casey, IL formerly of Mattoon, IL passed away at 3:15 pm on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Heartland Nursing Center, Casey, IL. She was born April 4, 1926 in Charleston, IL, the daughter of George Wesley Ferris and Ethel Irene Smith Ferris. On October 16, 1946 she married Elmer Edward Shutts, he passed away on December 8, 1997. Survivors include her son, Kenn Shutts of Shelbyville, IL; daughter in law, Barbara Shutts of Mattoon, IL; granddaughters, Amy Silverman, Shannon Lamb, Jessica Shutts and fiancé A.J. Scheiner, Denise Butler, Pam Shutts and Jennifer Deadmond and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, Elmer Edward Shutts, Jr. (infant) and George Shutts; daughter, Lois Keown; sisters, Nell Christianson and Norma Cisna and an infant great grandson, Michael Lee Shutts. Mrs. Shutts was a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting with her husband Elmer. Marge loved to play Bingo and spent as much time as she could with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed the nursing home van rides especially in the fall of the year when she could see the leaves changing colors. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm on Monday, November 9, 2015 at the Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Southard officiating. Burial will follow in the Dodge Grove Cemetery, Mattoon, IL. Visitation will be held from 12 (noon) to 1 pm on Monday prior to the service at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
