Marilyn Jo (Brandenburg) Larkin, age 67, of Casey, IL left her earthly life unexpectedly at 3:10 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Coles County, IL She was born on April 1, 1952 in Cumberland County, IL, the daughter of Donald Everett Brandenburg and Mary Lou Carl Brandenburg. On December 11, 1971 she married Kevin Douglas Larkin in the First Christian Church in Casey, IL. Survivors include her husband of over 47 years, Kevin Larkin of Casey, IL; mother, Mary Lou Brandenburg of Casey, IL; brothers, D. Mike Brandenburg (Pam) of Casey, IL and Donnie Brandenburg (Janet) of Casey, IL; brother in law, Paul Larkin (Jeannie) of Leesburg, GA, sister in law, Tamera Goldstein of Clearwater, FL; nephews and nieces, Michael Wayne Brandenburg (Amber), Kacey Jo Stark (Tommy); Kaleb Joe Brandenburg (Jessica); Miranda Jo Miller (Brian); Marc Brandenburg; Mandy Totton (Ty); Coltin Brandenburg; Michelle Noggle; Johnny Noggle; Michelle Wagner (Hutch); Matt Brandenburg; Toby Goldstein (Lana); Chandler Larkin and Wesley Larkin (Leslie); great nephews and nieces, Levi Brandenburg; Saidee Brandenburg (Alex Truelove); Quade Speros; Gannon Brandenburg; Jaxton Brandenburg; Mary Lynn Miller; Karmyn Stark; Paisley Truelove; Mia Totton; Madelyn Totton; Whitley Brandenburg; Dyson Wagner and Grady Brandenburg. She was preceded in death by her father, Bud Brandenburg and nephew, Mathew Dean Brandenburg. Marilyn grew up northwest of Casey as a farm girl. She was a 1970 graduate of Casey High School. Marilyn followed her husband for 26 years in the Navy Reserves, traveling to London, Netherlands, Hawaii and many other places. She had previously worked at Pap R Products, Snedeker & Worms Insurance, Heartland Nursing Center as an Assistant Administrator for 36 years and alongside her husband in the family oil business. She was a caring and thoughtful person never missing special days with her family and friends. Marilyn enjoyed family dinners and time spent with her parents, husband, brothers and her many nephews and nieces. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 30, 2019 at the Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Munson officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL. Memorial donations may be made Casey VFW, PO Box 276, Casey, IL 62420.
