Margaret Lavon Comer's Obituary
Margaret Lavon Comer, 95, of Alton, IL formerly of Casey, IL passed away at 4:15 a.m. on Friday, October 28, 2011 at Alton Memorial Hospital, Alton, IL. She was born July 5, 1916, in Casey, IL, the daughter of Reason Vern Hosman and Audrey Bevery Huddleston Hosman. On April 9, 1932, she married Kenneth Nathan Comer in Cumberland County, IL. He passed away on February 21, 1981. Survivors include daughters, Bevery Beabout and husband Robert of Aurora, CO and Ruth Ann Dooley and husband Dean of Alton, IL; brother, Harold Hosman of Esparto, CA; daughter in law, Sue Comer of Casey, IL; seven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, Christopher Beabout; son, Kenneth G. Comer; brother, Raymond Hosman and sisters, Dorothy Waggoner, Doris Ballinger and Freda Whitney. Mrs. Comer was a homemaker. She was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church and the Kedar Rebekah Lodge #153. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 31, 2011 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL with Rev. Marvin Oakley officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Street Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the service on Monday morning at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to the Macedonia Baptist Church, P.O. Box 55, Casey, IL 62420.
