Margaret Charity Fasig Bennett's Obituary
Margaret Charity Bennett, age 94, of Casey, IL passed away at 1:40 p.m. on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. She was born March 12, 1923 in Martinsville, IL the daughter of Edgar Fasig and Nellie Belle Ennis Fasig. On March 21, 1940 she married Jean Cleveland Bennett in Henderson, KY. He passed away on February 20, 1998. Survivors include her sons, Ivan (Joyce) Bennett of Martinsville, IL; Marion Bennett of Casey, IL; Nathan (Elizabeth) Bennett of Casey, IL; daughter, Sandra Ewart of Grove City, OH; sister, Mary Dillier of Casey, IL; eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, one step great grandchild and eight great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; brothers, Claude, Bill, Paul and Dean Fasig; sister, Eloise Ramsey and son in law, Jim Ewart. Mrs. Bennett was a lifetime member of Mt. Olive Kickapoo Congregational Christian Church and later was a faithful member of the Friendship Community Fellowship Church. She was a homemaker, an Avon lady and previously worked at McQuay Norris in Casey, IL. Margaret was a great cook and enjoyed gardening, crafts and puzzles. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Southard officiating. Burial will follow in the Kickapoo Cemetery, Martinsville, IL. Visitation will be held from 10 - 11 a.m. prior to the service at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL. Memorial donations may be made to the family c/o Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N.
