Mannilla Bay Sandy's Obituary
Mannilla Bay Sandy, 93, of Casey, IL passed away at 9:10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Heartland Nursing Center, Casey, IL. She was born August 25, 1919 in Casey, IL, the daughter of Alonzo Hills and Lucy Hart Hills. On August 10, 1940 she married Vernon McLain Sandy in Henderson, KY. He passed away on January 16, 2004. Survivors include daughter, Cheryl Ann Norton and husband Larry of Martinsville, IL; grandchildren, Joshua Warren Norton and wife Jennifer of Kettering, OH; Sandy Jo Dimoff and husband Alex of Green, OH and Aaron Michael Sandy of Holland, MI; great grandsons, Easton McLain Dimoff and Jakob Vernon Norton; sister, Barbara Robison of Mattoon, IL and sisters-in-law, Wanda Reid and Virginia Shawver, both of Charleston, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon Sandy; sons, Gary Lee Sandy and Rickie Dean Sandy and brothers, Darrell, Farrell and Karrell Hills. Mrs. Sandy was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Casey, IL and the Mint to Garden Club in Casey, IL. She was a former church secretary and taught Sunday school. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Marsh officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 101 E. Alabama St., Casey, IL 62420.
