Mabel M "Babe" Robinson's Obituary
Mabel M. "Babe" Robinson, 93, of Casey, Illinois, passed away at 5:10 a.m. on Monday, April 5, 2010, at Casey Health Care Center in Casey, Illinois. She was born on April 17, 1916 in Westfield, Illinois, the daughter of William S. Willison and Ida Mae Melton Willison. On March 4, 1935, she married Jesse Robinson in Charleston, Illinois. He preceded her in death on February 20, 1969. Surviving are her sons, William Robinson and wife Charlotte of Lake City, FL and Ronald Robinson and wife Pam of Martinsville, IL; daughters, Ethel Roberts and husband Charles of Mattoon, IL and Vickie Benefiel and husband Allen of Greenup, IL; sister, Beulah Davis of Charleston, IL; eighteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; twenty great, great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband of 34 years, Jesse Robinson; daughters, Mary Carrell and infant Peggy; seven brothers, and two sisters. Mabel was a homemaker and a member of the Salisbury Church in Hutton Township, Coles County, Illinois. Mabel devoted her life to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren she loved to read, especially the Bible. She made baby blankets for her grandchildren and loved to embroidery. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at the Markwell Chapel in Westfield, IL with Rev. Ray Finney officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Westfield. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the Markwell Chapel in Westfield, IL. Memorial contributions and donations may be made to the American Heart Association, Greater Midwest Division, 3816 Payshere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674.
