M Eloise Burkybile's Obituary
M. Eloise Burkybile, 88, of Casey, Illinois passed away at 6:35 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at Casey Health Care Center, Casey, IL. She was born May 29, 1920 in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Walter Harrison "Ben" Cole and Jennie Mae Markman Cole. On May 9, 1943, she married Hobart John Burkybile in Richland County, Illinois in a double wedding ceremony with her identical twin sister, Louise and his identical twin brother, Harry. Hobart passed away on April 25, 1974. Survivors include her daughter, Lois Sheaff of Peru, IL; sons, Carl Burkybile and wife Ruth Ann of Urbana, IL; Walter Burkybile of Casey, IL; Earl Burkybile and wife Betsy of Pacific, MO; brother, Warren Cole of Morton, IL; twin sister, Louise Burkybile of Casey, IL; sister in law, Arlene Cole of Warsaw, IN; grandchildren, Kathy Smith, Anne Kosek, Carrie Taylor, Brandon Burkybile, Daniel Burkybile and Andrew Burkybile and five great grandchildren. Her parents, husband, two brothers, John Cole & Edgar Cole and one grandson, John Burkybile preceded her in death. Eloise taught elementary school and sold World Book and Childcraft. She was a member of the Casey United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Clark County Home Extension. She loved to make decorative pillows and she had probably made over 1000 in her lifetime. She also loved to paint. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 4, 2008 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL with the Rev. Dr. Penelope Barber officiating. Burial will be in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday evening at the funeral home. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4503 W. Deyoung St., Marion, IL 62959 or the Casey United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 365, Casey, IL 62420.
