Lowell Shore's Obituary
Lowell Shore, 87, of Casey, Illinois passed away at 10:45 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Carle Hospital, Urbana, Illinois. He was born on January 30, 1926 in Casey, IL the son of John J. Shore and Jessie Underwood Shore. On June 10, 1944, he married Pearl Athey in Casey, Illinois. She passed away on February 9, 2010. Surviving are his sons, Gary Shore and wife Joyce of Hoopeston, IL; Dwight Shore and wife Marca of Marshall, IL and John Shore and wife Jane of Casey, IL; grandchildren, Douglas Shore and wife Heather of Carmel, IN; Heather Shaffner and husband Lance of Marshall, IL; Eric Shore and wife Lesley of Danville, IL; Brock Shore and wife Kelly of Hoopeston, IL; David Shore and wife Traci of Casey, IL; Jessica Shull and husband Eric of Casey, IL; Amy Brown and husband John of Casey, IL and Brian Varda and wife Wendy of Charleston, IL; twenty-five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Willis F. Shore and Harold Shore and sister, Bertha Matheny. Mr. Shore was a lifelong farmer of the Casey, IL area. He was born, raised and lived his entire life within mile of where he was born. He served on the Casey School Board for eight years during the 1960's. The highlight of Lowell's life was farming and his family. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Marsh officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the First Baptist Church, 101 E. Alabama St., Casey, IL.
