Lowell Earl Henderson's Obituary
Lowell Earl Henderson, 81, of rural Casey died on Saturday, July 4, 2009 at 5:50 a.m. at his residence. He was born August 10, 1927 in Cumberland County, IL to Glen and Lavern (Kelly) Henderson. On September 28, 1946, he married Dorothy Carlen who died June 29, 1955. On February 24, 1957, he married Norma McGahan, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Steven (Caulene) Henderson of Loveland, Colorado, Larry Henderson and Howard Henderson of Casey, Illinois and four daughters, Carolyn (Ed) Clodfelter of Parkersburg, Illinois; Deborah (Tom) Craig of Silver Lake, Indiana, Judy (Cy) Plunkett of Oblong, Illinois and Cynthia (Harvey) Garrett of Casey, Illinois. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 1 brother, Raymond (Phyllis) Henderson of North Highland, California, 2 sisters, Loretta (Bob) Ballard of Mattoon, Illinois and Darlene (Ken) Hockmuth of O'Fallon, Illinois and a sister-in-law, LaDonna Henderson of Indianapolis, Indiana. His parents, a brother, Doyle Henderson and a great-granddaughter preceded him in death. Lowell was a lifetime Cumberland County resident in the Hazel Dell area and was engaged in farming. He had also worked for the M & E Drilling. He was a member of the Hazel Dell Church of God and attended the First Baptist Church of Casey. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL with Rev. Gene Ellis officiating. Visitation will be on Monday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Hazel Dell South Cemetery.
