Louise C Hale's Obituary
SAVOY, IL- Rev. Louise C. Hale, 91, of the Champaign-Urbana Regional Rehab Center, Savoy, IL, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on August 17, 2012 at 2:41 P.M. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at the Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, IL. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Graveside services and burial will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, at the Marshall Cemetery, Marshall, IL. Louise was born September 9, 1920 at Newman, IL, the third of nine children born to Herman Sylvester and Loto Whittinghill Carroll. She graduated from Paris High School, Paris, IL. Louise accepted Christ as her Savior and felt a call to preach the gospel in 1932. She married Robert W. Hale on April 13, 1941 and they both received orders of the Ordained Elder in the Church of the Nazarene in 1952. Together they started a Church of the Nazarene in Marshall, IL in 1941 and then went on to co-pastor churches in Sidell, Nebo, West Frankfort, Jerseyville, Auburn, Marshall, Mansfield, Stonington, Canton, Farmer City and Erie in Illinois and in Monroe, Wisconsin. Mrs. Hale retired from active ministry in 1988. After retirement, they served together as interim pastors in Arcola and Mahomet, IL, finally retiring for sure in 1991. Rev. Robert Hale preceded her in death on April 1, 2005. The Hales had two children: Robert W. (June) Hale, Sterling, IL, and Carolyn H. (Robert F.) Blaisdell, Champaign, IL. The family includes five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Both children survive as well as grandchildren, Robert W. (Sharon) Hale II of Manassas, VA, Roger (Joyce) Hale of Bourbonnais, IL, Robert (Sharon) Blaisdell of Mt. Prospect, IL, and Rebecca (Patrick) Gerzanics of Chicago, IL. Great-grandchildren are Scott (Lyra) Hale, Jessica Hale, Erin Hale, Melissa Hale, Leann Hale, Amy Blaisdell, Lauren Blaisdell and Everett Gerzanics. Surviving sisters are Norma H. Shotts, Pittsfield, IL, Shirley A. (William) Loew, Casey, IL, Ruth E. (James) Yates, Casey, IL and sister-in-law Lois (Paul) Hilderbrand, Bedford, IN. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Rodney W. Hale; two sisters, B. Lucille Bland and Evelyn E. O'Rouke; three brothers, Cecil H. Carroll, Glenn D. Carroll and H. David Carroll and three brother-in-laws, Roy Yates, Patrick O'Rourke, and William Shotts. She was a strong supporter of the missionary programs of both the local churches and the Illinois District Church of the Nazarene, serving on the district council for many years. Memorials may be made to the Marshall, IL, Church of the Nazarene.
