Lorna Gene Oakley's Obituary
Lorna Gene Oakley, age 84, of Westfield, IL passed away at 12:35 p.m. on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Casey Health Care Center, Casey, IL. She was born August 17, 1933 in Moriah, IL, the daughter of James E. Lashbrook and Hazel Mitchell Lashbrook. On January 26, 1952 she married Maurice Dean Oakley in Westfield, IL. He passed away on July 4, 2003.Survivors include her children, Rick Oakley (Debbie) of Charleston, IL; Vic Oakley (Glenda) of Westfield, IL; Mitzi Johnston (Ken) of Westfield, IL and Melody Blanchard (Quincy) of Westfield, IL; sister, Lois Moore of Westfield, IL; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.Lorna graduated from high school in Westfield, IL. She had previously worked at Benedict's Dime Store in Charleston; Fashion Lane in Casey and volunteered at Casey Thrift Shop. Lorna was a homemaker and a faithful member of the Westfield Baptist Church. She enjoyed all activities at her Church, crossword puzzles, cruising Westfield in her golf cart and especially spending time with her family.Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Westfield Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Ellis and Rev. Brian Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Westfield, IL. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening at Westfield Baptist Church, 125 S.
