Lillie Matilda Wheeler's Obituary
Lillie Matilda Wheeler, 79 of Westfield, IL passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. She was born January 5, 1927 in Shelbyville, IL to Christian F. Uphoff and Gladys I. White Uphoff. On December 29, 1947 in Findlay, IL she married Orval R. Wheeler. He passed away on July 6, 1992. Survivors include sons, Richard "Dick" Wheeler and wife Sandy of Westfield, IL and Fredrick "Fritz" Wheeler and wife Brenda of Oblong, IL; daughters, Bonnie Finley and husband Gene of Terre Haute, IN and Deborah "Debe" Wright and husband Steve of Shelbyville, IL; sister, Alma Uphoff-Liebman of Springfield, IL; Grandchildren: Mike Young & wife Natalie; Becky Clement & husband Doug; Jessica Wright; Shane Wright; Erick Wheeler; Heidi Wheeler; Elizabeth Wheeler; Rachel Wheeler; BreAnne Wheeler and Kate Finley; Great Grandchildren: Madison Young & Jacob Clement. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Gilbert and Arnold Uphoff and sisters, Harriett Laird and Agnes Ruzicka. Mrs. Wheeler was a homemaker and worked at Westfield School as a custodian. She was also a cook at the Westfield Cafe. She was a member of the Westfield United Methodist Church where she was a choir member, Sunday School and Bible School teacher. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and was an avid reader and a Cubs fan. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. CST on Saturday, November 4, 2006 at the Westfield United Methodist Church in Westfield, IL with Rev. Charles Shelquist and Rev. Cathy Minor officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Westfield, IL. Visitation will be held Friday, November 3, 2006 from 4 - 8 p.m. CST at the Markwell Chapel in Westfield, IL. Memorials may be made to the Westfield United Methodist Church or the Westfield Public Library. Markwell Funeral Home of Casey - Westfield is in charge of arrangements.
