Leslie Dawn Boston's Obituary
Leslie Dawn Boston, of Hillsboro, passed away Monday, October 27th, 2025, in St. Louis, MO. She was born in Terre Haute, IN on March 13th, 1965, a daughter of Larry and Sue (Shawver) Crandall. Leslie grew up on her family farm in Casey, IL. After graduating from Casey High School with the class of 1983, she continued her education by earning a Bachelors Degree at Eastern Illinois University and a Masters Degree at Walden University. Leslie married Joe Boston on September 25th, 1992, at the Methodist Church of Hillsboro and they enjoyed over 33 years of marriage. Mrs. Boston was employed with the Hillsboro Community Unit School District #3 for 35 years as a well-respected member of the high school mathematics department. She was also highly involved with the district, serving as the Student Council Sponsor, a member of the Hillsboro Sports Boosters, and the Homecoming Director. She especially enjoyed being the Cheerleading Sponsor, as she was a cheerleader herself at Casey High School. Additionally, she enjoyed traveling and doing landscaping projects. She was a wonderful cook and a big Dallas Cowboys fan. After retiring from the school district, she worked at Ruby Tuesday as a server, where she loved to see many familiar faces and make new friends. Leslie was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hillsboro.

Her sons, Zach (Ashlei Wiley) Boston of Casey, IL and Brock (Rikkelle) Boston of Auburn, IL
Her sisters, Lisa (Brad) Huddlestun of Hazel Dell, IL and Lori (Mark) Scimio of Fairview Heights, IL
Her grandchildren, Sawyer Jane and Bryer (on the way)
Her father-in-law, Joe D. Boston of Irving, IL
Several nieces and nephews
Several great-nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Sue Crandall, and her grandparents.
No services are planned, per Leslie’s request. Memorials may be directed to the Montgomery County Cancer Association, 106 Pinnacle Point Drive, Hillsboro, IL 62049, to assist local families.
