Leonard G Richardson's Obituary
Leonard G. Richardson, 82, of West Terre Haute, IN formerly of Martinsville, IL passed away at 12 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2012 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. He was born May 26, 1930 in Oilfield, IL, the son of Golden Richardson and Leola Ulrey Richardson. On December 22, 1946, he married Mary Epperson in Westfield, IL. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Mary Richardson of West Terre Haute, IN; son, Gerry Richardson of Kennesaw, GA; daughter, Shelley Duhigg and husband Richard of Bardstown, KY; grandchildren, Stacy Zolp, Stephanie Daley and Rebecca Duhigg; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Rex Allen Richardson and brother, Dean Richardson. Mr. Richardson was a packaging engineer for over thirty three years for National Lock Company in Rockford, IL. He was a volunteer for the Kenrock Community Center, Rockford, IL, where he was the head of the Recreation Council for seven years. He enjoyed gardening, round dancing and square dancing, which he also shared at the local nursing homes. He was a member of the High Hasher Dance Club in Rockford, IL. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at the Greenwell Funeral Home with Rev. Billie Ray Ulrey officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgelawn Cemetery, Martinsville, IL. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., prior to the service on Sunday at the Greenwell Funeral Home, 30 N. Washington St., Martinsville, IL. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2509 South Neil Street, Champaign, IL 61820.
