Leona Juanita Seaton's Obituary
Juanita Seaton, 87, of Martinsville, Illinois passed away at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 2, 2012 at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia, IL. She was born February 27, 1925 in Union Center, Cumberland County, IL, the daughter of William Bryan Shafer and Etta Gay Kuhn Shafer. On December 14, 1942 she married Eugene Wilson Seaton in Terre Haute, IN. He passed away on April 8, 1993. Survivors include her sons, Fenton (Frances) Seaton of Highlands Ranch, CO; Jerry (Jean) Seaton of Vandalia, IL and Deon Seaton of Denver, CO and special friend of the family, Rick Claeys of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Kristianne Seaton of Highlands Ranch, CO, Carol (Don) Hardin of St. Louis, MO; Gary Seaton of Vandalia, IL and special friend, April Silverman of St. Louis, MO; Terry Seaton of Vandalia, IL and Amy (James) Jackson of Vandalia, IL; great grandchildren, Leah Tinker (George Ramsey) of St. Louis, MO; Luke and Lydia Hardin of St. Louis, MO; Zachary, Codie and J'Amy Jackson of Vandalia, IL; great great grandchildren, Shamar, Isaiah and Julius Ramsey of St. Louis, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Charles Leland Shafer; sisters, Billie Louise Shafer, Martha Viola Blanchard and twin sister, Naomi Vineta Fessenbeck. Mrs. Seaton worked at the Newman Apple Orchard for many years and retired from Charles Industries. She was a member of the Bible Church in Martinsville, IL and was a fifty year member of the American Legion Auxillary. Juanita was a Cub Scout leader and loved to watch the boys play all sports. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 6, 2012 at the Greenwell Funeral Home, Martinsville, IL with Pastor Terry Blanchard officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgelawn Cemetery, Martinsville, IL. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday evening at the Greenwell Funeral Home, 30 N. Washington St., Martinsville, IL. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 1510 Grandview Dr., Champaign, IL 61820. Memorial tributes may be sent to the family www.greenwellfh.com.
