Leona Hardway Hills' Obituary
Leona Hardway Hills, 94, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 10:50 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Heartland Manor, Casey, IL. She was born on February 10, 1917 in Martinsville, IL, the daughter of John Lee Hardway and Nannie Ethel Carper Hardway. In 1935 she married Denzil Leon Hills and he preceded her in death. Survivors include her grandson, David Lowe of Martinsville, IL; sisters, Mary Guinn of Martinsville, IL; Gwen Hammond of Martinsville, IL and Sharon Daughhetee of Martinsville, IL; brother, Kenneth D. Hardway of Martinsville, IL. She was preceded by her parents, husband, daughter, Patricia Ann Lowe; son, Robert Lee "Bob" Hills and brothers, James R. Hardway and Chester A. Hardway. Mrs. Hills retired after 35 years of employment with the Illinois Secretary of State Drivers License Division as Supervisor and was a member of the Martinsville United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 11, 2011 at the Greenwell Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Graham officiating. Burial will follow in the City Cemetery, Martinsville, IL. Visitation will be held from Noon to 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to Heartland Manor Nursing Center, P.O. Box 10, Casey, IL 62420.
