Lena Katherine (Volk) Gillis, 97, of Casey, IL went to meet her Lord at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Heartland Christian Village, Neoga, IL. She was born November 1, 1915 in Hume, IL, the daughter of Riley Volk and Vertia Mae Robey Volk. Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Ann Gillis Veach of Casey, IL; son, Robert Gillis and wife Judy of Hammond, IN; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Kenneth Volk, Lenwood Volk, and Gene Volk; son, William Gillis; grandsons, Shawn Miller and Virgil Collins. Lena and her mother Mae operated the old Texaco Restaurant, the Drive Inn Café, and the Country Kitchen Restaurant in Casey, IL for many years. Later, Lena and her daughter Pat operated the Main Room Restaurant in Casey, IL. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
