Larry Edward Nave's Obituary
Larry Edward Nave, age 86, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 9:35 a.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Heartland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Casey, IL. He was born January 3, 1939 in Orange Township, IL, the son of Benjamin E. “Ben” Nave and Sylvia Marie (Swope) Nave. On January 30, 1962 he married Annetta “Ann” Marie Wolfe in Martinsville, IL; she passed away on May 14, 2019.
Survivors include his daughters, Jeanette Seaney of Martinsville, IL and Janet Lindley of Marshall, IL; grandchildren, Samantha Seaney, Abby Seaney, Jennifer Seaney, Jared Lindley, and Shelby Lindley; great grandchildren, Emerald Lofton, Annlsey Tedesco, Adley Seaney, Everly Adcock and Alec Morgan; sister, Sandra Glenn (Robert) of Greenup, IL; sisters-in-law, Judith “Judie” Nave of Marshall, IL and Rusty Nave of Marshall, IL; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ann Nave; and brothers, Myron Nave and Jerry Nave.
Larry was a graduate of Hutsonville High School. He was a lifelong farmer. Larry and Ann raised their family and cattle on the farm south of Martinsville, IL. Larry was also a
Martinsville School District school bus driver for over forty years. He served on the Orange Township Board and was a Trustee for the Orange Township Cemetery. Larry was also a member of the Clark County Antique Power Club and The Studebaker Drivers Club. For over fifty years, Larry dug graves, ditches, and trenches. He was always willing to help anyone in need. Larry enjoyed collecting antique tractors and cars. On a nice day, you may have seen him driving around in one of his prized cars or trucks. Larry was a lifelong member of the Olive Branch Church where his ancestors proudly started attending church in a little log cabin. He also enjoyed gospel and country music.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Greenwell Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Nave officiating. Burial will follow in the Olive Branch Cemetery, rural Martinsville, IL. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at Greenwell Funeral Home, 30 N. Washington St., Martinsville, IL.
