Larry Gene Gossett's Obituary
Larry Gene Gossett, 64, of Charleston, IL passed away at 6:55 a.m. on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, MO. He was born July 18, 1946, in Danville, IL, the son of Robert Ben Gossett and Leah Fern Deverick Gossett. On October 22, 1967, he married Sandra L. Hubeli in Charleston, IL. Survivors include his wife of forty-three years, Sandra Gossett of Charleston, IL; daughters, Ginger Gossett of Terre Haute, IN and Robin (Matthew) Allen of Charleston, IL; grandchildren, Robert, Brittany, Justen, Bambi, Kamilla and Kimberly; brothers, Ben Gossett and Richard Gossett of Casey, IL and sister, Kay (Robert) Donley of Danville, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents. Larry worked at Illinois Tool Works in Charleston, IL for over thirty years. He was a US Army veteran. He served as a SGT E5 during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Charleston, IL. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at the First Christian Church, 411 Jackson St., Charleston, IL with Rev. Mike Southards officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Cemetery, Charleston, IL with graveside military rites by the Charleston VFW Paul McVey Post 1592. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the First Christian Church, 411 Jackson St., Charleston, IL. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to the Lung Transplant Patient Assistance Fund, c/o Barnes Hospital, 216 S. Kings Highway, St. Louis, MO 63110, Mailstop 90-32-686.
