Larry B "Smiley" Claypool's Obituary
Larry B. "Smiley" Claypool, 63, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 3:06 am on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN. He was born September 22, 1951 in Terre Haute, IN the son of Kenneth Claypool and Mildred Louise Glatthaar Claypool. On October 29, 2010 he married Vicky L. Harris in Terre Haute, IN. Survivors include his wife, Vicky L. Claypool of Casey, IL; stepchildren, Dawn (Mike) Kuhn of Casey, IL; Rhonda Milton of W. Terre Haute, IN and Ron (Jennifer) Harris of Casey, IL; brothers, Gary Claypool of Marshall, IL and Kent (Denise) Claypool of Martinsville, IL and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ronald and Doran Claypool and sister in law, Judy Claypool. Larry previously worked as a transmission mechanic for All-Tran and Precision Transmission. He was the former owner of Automatic Transmission in Casey, IL and owned and operated rental property. Smiley loved to attend auctions and walk through yard sales and flea markets. He thought riding lawn mowers was more for transportation than cutting grass. He really enjoyed fishing and when he wasn't fishing he was still thinking about it. Vicky let Smiley run the tiller to prepare her garden. His love for being in the fresh air of the outdoors led to many trips through the woods and finding some mushrooms on occasion. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the Markwell Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in the Auburn Cemetery, Clark Center, IL. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 pm on Tuesday evening at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
