Lance Corporal Joshua Hines' Obituary
Lance Corporal Joshua M. Hines, 26, of Westfield was killed in action while conducting combat operations against anti-Iraqi forces near Al-Anbar Province in Iraq, on October 15, 2006. He was born November 29, 1979 in Ventura, CA, the son of Micahel Hines and K'Ann Sells Hines. He was employed by Wal-Mart Distribution Center, Olney. He joined the U.S. Marine Corp in June 2004. He was stationed with Company K, 3rd Battalion, 24th Marines. Josh married Caryn R. Felkamp on February 25, 2006 and she survives. He is also survived by his infant son, Rylie Joshua Hines, Westfield; his mother, K'Ann Hines and friend Joe Yanchak, Ventura, CA; his father, Michael Hines, Bakersfield, CA; his maternal grandmother, Marilyn Kieser of OR; 2 brothers, Jason and Brooke Hines, Albany, OR and Jared Hines and his fiance' Melissa Kuka, Simi Valley, CA; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Chuck and Renee Felkamp, Casey; his aunt and uncle Stacy and Gary Lacy, Grants Pass, OR; 2 nephews; 3 nieces and several cousins. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 27, 2006 at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Casey, with Dr. Penelope H. Barber officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey-Cumberland Cemetery. Full military graveside rites will be conducted by the U.S. Marine Corp. Visitation will be held from 2 - 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 26, 2006 at the church. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Rylie Hines Fund, c/o Casey State Bank, P.O. Box 337, Casey, IL 62420. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson along with the Markwell & Son Funeral Home in Casey are in charge of arrangements.
