Kay Hotze's Obituary
Sharon Kay Hotze, 65, of Casey, Illinois left this earth for her heavenly home at 3:23 a.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2008 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 26, 1942 in Hidalgo, Illinois, the daughter of George Edward Snedeker and Helen Rowena Hays Snedeker. Her loving mother, Helen Snedeker of Casey, IL, survives her. Kay was a loving and devoted mother to her children, Scott Hotze of Marion, IL; Steve Hotze and wife Dawn of Salem, IL; Janis McCrackin and husband Ed of DeWitt, MI and Tony Hotze of Salem, IL. She dearly loved her grandchildren, Stephanie Hotze, Nick Hotze, Kemper Hotze, Emilee Hotze, Kate McCrackin and Elle McCrackin. Also surviving are her sisters, Annabelle Koester of Casey, IL and her husband John; Marie Galey of Crawfordsville, IN; Judy Murphy of Casey, IL and Susie Allred and husband Bill of Oliver, IL; and her lifelong friend Donna Mitchell of Ft. Myers, FL. She will also be missed by her faithful maltese "Kaki." Her father, sisters, Mary Snedeker and Marilyn Neal and brothers in law, Lyle Galey and Kenny Murphy preceded her in death. Kay was an owner and operator of many businesses throughout her life. She was a 1960 graduate of Casey High School. Kay was a ray of sunshine and was loved by all who met her. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL. The family will be greeting the public during an open visitation from 2 - 5 on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at the funeral home.
