Kathryn Rue's Obituary
Kathryn (Forcum) Rue, age 88, of Marshall, Illinois was born July 19, 1921 to Edgar and Elsie (Maynard) Forcum in Chrisman, Illinois. She graduated from Paris High School. She worked for Dr. Walter Kirsten as an optical technician and receptionist. Then in December 1948, she met the love of her life, Jimmy Rue, a young minister who came to her home congregation, the Oliver Church of Christ. They were married August 7, 1949, and celebrated 60 years of marriage this year. To this union, two children were born, Linda Diane Teel (husband Bob) of Chatham, Illinois and Randal James Rue (wife Tammie) of Sherman, Illinois. Kathy delighted in her four grandchildren, Jeni (Teel) Sperry, Brad Teel, Sarah (Rue) Ford, and David Rue. Also of special interest to Kathy were her four great grandchildren, Kathryn Olivia Sperry, who was named after her, Amelia Grace Sperry, Elizabeth Sue Ford, and Jackson Richard Ford. She is also survived by her sister, Kathleen Kibby of Jasper, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister, Mary Martha Forcum, and stillborn grandson, Jonathan Randal Rue. Kathryn will be greatly missed by her husband, children, and all who knew and loved her deeply. On September 23, 2009 at Villa Care Center, Sherman, Illinois, she quietly took the hand of our Lord and went to her heavenly home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, Illinois, with Bros. Abe Miller and Coy Siddall officiating. Burial will follow in the Hazel Dell South Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2009, at the funeral home.
