Kathryn Mullen's Obituary
Kathryn Mullen, 90, of Casey, Illinois passed away at 10:16 a.m. on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana. She was born on July 14, 1919 in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Jacob and Rosa Kaser . She married Leland Mullen on June 22, 1941 in St. Charles, Missouri. Leland passed away on July 16, 2004. She is survived by one son, Jim Mullen of Casey, IL; one daughter, Nancy Mullen Howe of Marshall, IL; one grandson, Mike Mullen and wife Vicki of Newton, IL; two step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents and husband. Kathryn was a member of Casey United Methodist Church and a member of the VFW for more than 50 years. Leland and Kathryn had a long happy life of 63 years together. They enjoyed Florida in the winter months. They both enjoyed fishing, traveling, dancing, and woodworking. Kathryn loved exercising and painting her art work. She was employed at Perry's Hardware for many years and was also a homemaker. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL with the Rev. Dr. Penelope Barber officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Street Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
