Kathleen Sue "Kathy" Bline's Obituary
Kathleen Sue Bline, age 62, of Charleston, IL entered her heavenly home at 4:26 a.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Charleston Rehabilitation and Healthcare, Charleston, IL. Despite being born with Down 's Syndrome, Kathy defied all odds and overcame many obstacles. God had a plan for her, and it was to show and teach unconditional love. She brought joy and love to all that knew her.
Kathy was born May 14, 1960 in Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of Charles E. Bline and Thelma Lucille Weir Bline. Survivors include her sisters, Jennie Holsapple (Kim) of Toledo, IL and Lisa Johnson (Clay) of Bloomington, IL; aunt, Grace Bline Bailey of LaPorte, ID; sisters in law, Judy Bline of Holly Springs, MS and Teena Bline of Casey, IL; eight nieces and nephews and fifteen great nieces and nephews and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William "Bill" Bline, Charles "Chuck" Bline Jr., and Stephen A. "Steve" Bline and nephew, Jared Bellair McVey.
Kathy lived at the B Street CILA in Charleston, IL where she was affectionately called "Diva" by her roommates and staff. Staffed by highly trained individuals, this home provided an exceptional quality of life for Kathy.
Some of Kathy 's favorite pastimes were coloring, playing with Barbies, bowling and going for car rides. She especially loved spending time with her family and dancing, especially to Elvis Presley music. Kathy attended the CCAR Senior Program and participated in Camp New Hope and Special Olympics.
Kathy was a hugger, so spread the love by hugging your loved ones; that would have made Kathy smile.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Markwell Funeral Home with Pastor Brooke Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery, Crooked Creek Township, rural Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 10 - 11 a.m. prior to the service on Wednesday at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.

Our family would like to give our heartfelt thanks to the entire CCAR staff and caregivers, "You have been a God send to our family and we will never forget the loving care you gave Kathy."
