Katherine Irene Shobe's Obituary
Katherine Irene Shobe, age 91, of Casey, IL, passed away at 7:44 a.m. on December 1, 2019 at Heartland Senior Living in Neoga, IL. She was born October 20, 1928 in Decatur, IL the daughter of Arthur Howard Harris and Faith Lucile Sampson Harris. On April 15, 1949 she married Kenneth Harold Shobe in Mattoon, IL and he preceded her in death on July 12, 1991. Survivors include her two sons, Kenneth Dean Shobe (Steph) of Casey, IL and William Arthur Shobe (Jean) of Neoga, IL; daughter, Judy Harvey of Peoria, IL; son-in-law, Keith Seaton of Casey, IL; eight grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Peggy Seaton; brother, Ralph Harris; sister, Dorothy Jennings; son-in-law, Larry Harvey and daughter-in-law, Mickie Shobe. Katherine was a member of Decatur United Methodist Church and attended Casey First Baptist Church for many years with her children. She enjoyed cooking and providing meals for her family and had a love for dogs, always having a dog for a companion. Funeral service will be held Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 11:00 am at Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL with Rev. Gene Ellis officiating. Burial will follow at the Casey Cumberland Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N Central Ave, Casey, IL. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society 675 E.
