Joy K. Greenwell, age 91, of Martinsville, Illinois died at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 05, 2008, in the Burnside Community Health Care in Marshall, Illinois. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2008, at the Greenwell Funeral Home, Martinsville, Illinois, with the Rev. Billie Ray Ulrey officiating. The visitation will be Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Ridgelawn Cemetery in Martinsville, IL. She was born on September 17, 1916, in Melrose Township, Clark County, Illinois, the daughter of Elmer and Lillie (Napier) Clough. She married Lee S. Greenwell on January 24, 1940, in St. Louis, Mo. She is survived by her husband, Lee S. Greenwell of Martinsville, IL; one daughter, Patty Buckner and her husband Eddie of Martinsville, IL; one son, George Greenwell and his wife Rebecca of Martinsville, IL; three grandchildren, Becky and Shane McDearmon of Effingham, IL, Tim Buckner of Martinsville, IL and Alan Buckner of Martinsville, IL; two step-grandchildren, Jill (Rusty) Goodman of Martinsville, IL and Tony (Staci) Goodwin of Martinsville, IL; one great-granddaughter, Tru Goodman; two step great grandchildren, Austin Davidson and Alex McDearmon. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Fern Price; three brothers, Dean, Don and Dennis Clough. Joy and her husband Lee owned and operated the Greenwell Funeral Home. She was a member of the Martinsville Bible Church and the Martinsville American Legion Post Auxiliary. Memorial contributions may be made to the Martinsville Bible Church.
