John M Walters' Obituary
John M. Walters, 93, of Casey, IL passed away at 5:20 a.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Odd Fellow Rebekah Home in Mattoon, IL. He was born January 17, 1919 in Cumberland County, IL, the son of Jeff Walters and Goldie May Jacobs Walters. On May 9, 1939, he married Wandalee Beasley in Angola, IN. She passed away on October 27, 2001. Survivors include daughters, Peggy Davis and husband Denny of Martinsville, IL & Vickie Davis and husband Clyde of Bonfield, IL; brothers, Dean Walters and wife Myrna of Martinsville, IL & Jerry Walters and wife Karen of Neoga, IL; sister, Jean Webster and husband Morris of Mattoon, IL; seven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents, wife, daughter, Marilyn Joyce Waller and husband Bill, six brothers and six sisters. John was a retired carpenter for Local Union #2014 in Chicago for over 15 years. He was a member of the Word of Life Church in Casey, IL and a US Army WWII veteran. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL with Rev. Terry Blanchard officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Street Cemetery with Graveside Military Rites by the Casey VFW and Hazel Dell American Legion. Visitation will be held from 12 noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
