Jeniece "Jenny" Louise Stafford's Obituary
Jeniece "Jenny" Louise (Sullivan) Stafford, 76, of E. Peoria, IL, formerly of Casey, IL passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at her daughter's home in Naperville, IL after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born September 6, 1938 in Vincennes, IN, the daughter of Millard Eugene Sullivan and Helen Josephine Wellington Sullivan. On October 9, 1981 she married Lowell Lee Stafford in Door County, WI. He passed away on November 26, 2011. She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Turner Purgatorio and husband Nick of Naperville, IL; her son, Benjamin Turner and wife Flordelis of Ballwin, MO; grandchildren, Garrett and Grant Borg of Naperville, IL; Sam, Siena, Spencer and Hally Turner of Ballwin, MO; sister, Karen Williams and husband Lynn of Orlando, FL; sister-in-law, Connie Sullivan of Casey, IL; three nephews, six great nephews and two great nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of thirty years, Lowell Stafford; the father of her children, Richard Turner and her brother, Rodney Eugene Sullivan. Jenny grew up in Casey, Illinois and was a graduate of Casey High School, Class of 1956 where she was a majorette; with interests in music, dance, and drama. From Casey she spent a couple of years in Charleston and then onto Kankakee, IL where she was an employee of General Foods. She married Lowell Stafford from East Peoria in 1981, and that's where she called home for the last 33 years. Jenny retired from State Farm Insurance in Bloomington, Illinois in 2000. Jenny loved to travel and was such an outgoing person she made friends wherever she went. She had an eye for decorating, enjoyed working out, reading, knitting and gardening. Her family was the most important part of her life and when the grandkids paid a visit she always had something fun planned for them. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the United Methodist Church in Casey, IL with the Rev. Dr. Penelope H. Barber officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the United Methodist Church, 703 N. State Hwy 49, Casey, IL.
