James Patrick “Jim” Yates of Charleston, IL passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at his home. He was born August 22, 1957 in Kankakee, IL the son of James Robert Yates, Sr. and Rev. Ruth Emmaline (Carroll) Yates Read Obituary
Sending condolences to Susie in behalf of Manfred Chemnitz in Erfurt Germany. He valued Jim greatly and the ability to speak with him freely regarding anything. Jim always had an open ear to anything Manfred and his team needed to address with him. He has nothing but good memories of Jim. They met at CTM about 30 years ago when Manfred had his first oversees Job in Casey IL working as a mechanic providing customer service. Manfred is saddened to hear about Jim's passing - way too soon! With heartfelt sympathy, Manfred and Karen Chemnitz.
I worked for the family for a few years and worked remotely with Jim, Susie and Luc. I was the Customer Service Rep for the lighting company. Coming from a manufacturing family myself, I was very impressed with Jim's innovation and intelligence. I assisted the companies that purchased the lighting with applications for energy rebates. The engineering and technology involved in Jim's design of the lighting we sold was incredible. I had the opportunity to work with Susie again a few years later and she is now a valuable part of our team. My heart goes out to the family and my deepest sympathy for Susie. Jim will be deeply missed.

I'm heartbroken over the passing of a dear friend, former boss and wonderful person that I had the privilege of getting to know well. So many fun memories from gathering in Jim Susie's Kitchen, Horse camp, work and our gathering at the Rase Track here in Louisville KY a couple of years ago. Never a dull moment and so much laughter we shared.
A lot of support, understanding and interest was given and shared. From time to time, we cracked a joke in German (my native language), that Jim was able to speak, read and understand.
I'm especially heartbroken for Susie, the children and grandchildren. May you all find strength within during this difficult time.
We will all miss Jim's presence in our lives, but he will forever have a place in our hearts. With deepest sympathy, Korinna Robinson.
