James Seaton's Obituary
James S. Seaton, 86, of Casey, Illinois passed away at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana. He was born on August 4, 1924 in Martinsville, Illinois, the son of Vern A. and Bessie Lacey Seaton. On August 10, 1946, he married Arlene Simpson in Henderson, Kentucky. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Arlene Seaton; son, Keith Seaton and wife Peggy of Casey, IL; daughters, Lynn Ann Robinson and husband Bill of Terre Haute, IN and Laurel Byrne and husband Mark of Newton, IL; grandchildren, Lacey Harden, Tony Robinson, Kierstin Smith, Melissa McBee, Michelle Blankenship, Becky Wattleworth, Wylie Seaton, Lucas Seaton, R.J. Steed, and Sidney Steed; 16 great grandchildren; sisters, Marie Staley of Martinsville, IL and Doris Buckle of Hutsonville, IL; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Donald Wayne Seaton, and sister, Ruby Connelly. James was devoted to Christ his Lord and was a member of the Mt. Olive Christian Church (Kickapoo), where he served as a Deacon for over 40 years. James served his country as an aerial gunner in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at the Markwell Funeral Home in Casey, IL with Bro. Billie Ray Ulrey officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery with military graveside rites by Casey VFW and Hazel Dell American Legion. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home.
