James J."Jim" Mullen's Obituary
James J. "Jim" Mullen, age 80, of Casey, IL passed away at 7 p.m. on January 9, 2025 at his residence. He was born November 30, 1944 in Olney, IL the son of Leland Gilbert Mullen and Kathryn Lucille (Kaser) Mullen.
Survivors include his sister, Nancy (Mullen) Howe of Effingham, IL; nephew, Mike Mullen (Vicki) of Newton, IL; and cousins, Randy Perry (Barb) of Cleveland, TN, Lori Perry McFall (Cris) of Greenwood, IN, Dick King of Temple, TX and multiple other cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jim was a 1962 graduate of Casey High School and a graduate of DeVry University in Chicago, IL. Jim worked for Texaco in Texas after graduating from DeVry University and returned to Casey to take over the family farm in the mid 1980 's. He owned and managed Illiana Sports, pool and dart league in Casey and the surrounding counties for 15 years. He enjoyed farming, golfing, shooting pool and going to Vegas.
Memorial service honoring Jim 's life will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Markwell Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL prior to the service. Inurnment will be in Washington Street Cemetery, Casey, IL at a later date.
