Jack Walter Crane's Obituary
Jack Walter Crane, 90, of Marshall, IL passed away at 3:58 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. He was born on November 29, 1922 in Bushton, IL, the son of Walter Voss Crane and Ida Mary Morris Crane. On March 27, 1943 in St. Charles, MO, he married Cora Ellen Bennett. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Cora Crane of Marshall, IL; his children, Sharon Ann Sharp of E. Carondelet, IL, Mary Alice DeBarba of Berryton, KS, Ray Crane and wife Janice of Martinsville, IL, Roy Crane and wife Cathy of Martinsville, IL, Barbara Peugh and husband Marvin of Milledgeville, IL, and Jack Stephen Crane and wife Patty of Cincinnati, OH; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents, infant brother, Jesse Crane, sisters, Ida Pauline Daugherty and Maxine Sanford, sons in law, David Sharp and Ronald DeBarba and grandson, Michael Watson. Mr. Crane was a lifetime agricultural farmer and livestock producer, a WWII Army veteran, a member of the Five Points Christian Church in Clark Center, IL and a member of the Marshall VFW Post # 5975. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Greenwell Funeral Home in Martinsville, IL with Rev. Larry Morecraft officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgelawn Cemetery, Martinsville, IL with graveside military rites by Marshall VFW Post #5975. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Greenwell Funeral Home, Martinsville, IL.
