Ida Marie Hunt's Obituary
Ida Marie Hunt, age 78, of Westfield, Il passed away at 2:21 a.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at her home. She was born April 27, 1947 in Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of Lester Wayne Cox and Erma S. (Carlen) Cox. On March 27, 1970 she married Othie Samuel Hunt, Jr. in Edgar Co., IL.; they shared thirty-seven years of marriage before his passing on December 17, 2007.
Survivors include her sons, Jerry Hunt and wife Aubrey of Westfield, IL and Darrin Hunt Westfield, IL; grandchildren, Charlotte Hunt, Jackson Hayes, Logan (Hunt) Stutesman and husband Alex, Lyndsy (Hunt) Ferguson and husband Jerad, Lance Hunt and wife Katie and Luke Hunt and wife Brittany; great grandchildren, Collin and AJ Stutesman, Walker and Sawyer Ferguson, and Grace and Arthur Hunt; sister, Ruth Ann Finley and husband Tom of Greenup, IL; sisters-in-law, Ann Shafer of Charleston, IL, Eva Irwin of Murfreesboro, TN, and Barb Kuykendall and husband Larry of Kansas, IL; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; daughter, Jennifer Jo Hunt; and infant son, Clint Edward Hunt.
Ida was a 1965 graduate of Westfield High School. She retired from ERBA where she was a school bus driver for many years. Ida was a member of the Westfield Improvement League. For many years, she enjoyed helping with the Westfield Christmas carnival. Ida also enjoyed reading and puzzles. She loved her family and was so proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, December 8, 2025 at Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Ledley officiating. Burial will follow in Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
